I am moving in with my parents (another whole story) and I was going through some of my boxes. I was sitting on a chair and my son had moved the boxes so I wouldn't fall over something. I was reaching down into a box and stretching further and further....just to get my favorite rolling pin. Next thing I knew I fell out of the chair into the box. I went down pretty hard on my left knee and then rolled into the box. Of course, there was a HUGE bruise on my leg that we could even watch spreading. My son read my coumadin brochure and made me go to the ER. I did, however, learn some valuable things at the ER. They told me about making sure it does NOT get hard or block blood flow to my feet. And checked my INR which was 2.2. And sent my on my way. The interesting part happened the next day. My kidney doctor flipped out. He said I should have had an ultrasound to determine if I had a hematoma. I don't know which one was right. But 4 days later, the bruise is going away and there was no "hard" places.
