Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
It's true that it would've sucked if your clots went to your brain, but it sucked that they went to your lungs too! So suckage of your PE is general.
And since your doc thinks your first episode was caused by a fall, it means you don't have to worry about having clotty blood in general. Which is great news!
