Did anyone else have lung infarction with there pulmonary embolism? (that means part of the lung dies because of the oxygen being cut off) I have read online that about 10% of people with pulmonary embolism have this. I had a blood clot that cut off 2/3 of my lung function of my right lung. I lost 40% of my lung function. I am still short of breath a lot. Is this normal? Can you ever regain lung function or is there likely to be permanant damage? I havent asked about permanant damage to my doctor. I have told him about the shortness of breath and he says that it takes time for it to get better. Also I am still having chest pain. Is anyone else out there having these problems?
