Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
right?
thanks so much for the compliment in following me to the hospital!
just being silly.
i'm so glad that everything came out ok.
i'm sorry you had to go through all that.
especially without much support from family and girlfriend.
i know how scary it can be.
take care of yourself and rest up.
hospitals are miserable places to rest.
huge hugs.
You know, I totally sympathise, it is so hard knowing the differences between PE pain, anxiety pain, and muscle pain - to me, they all. feel pretty much the same! There have been many times when i have been so close to getting myself checked out - but for some reason i always talk myself out of it...which is silly really, as i am messing with something which could be potentially very dangerous! so...all in all, i admire both you and beecute for getting yourself checked out, and i definately need to learn to be more like you two!
I'm so sad that your family aren't being as supportive as you'd like them to be! I think it's tough, for those who are not in our little PE gang, to understand what we are going for and why we are so anxious! It has been said many times, but we are surviours, and we have all learnt the hard way - that life is very precious and that it can hang in the balance at any time, and at any age! So, no wonder it is so hard for others to understand. Those who have not been in a life-threatening situation don't always understand! To be honest, i've kinda given up in trying to get people to understand how i feel, because no matter what I say or do it wont make people 'get' me. It's not their fault, but most people take life for granted and always think it will never happen to them! But, you can always count on us to understand where you're coming from - so if you ever need support you know where to come! I must admit, I actually think the whole PE recovery thing is a very lonely process. You could be surrounded by loads of family and friends and still feel lonely - coz i think that until you've been in that situation, people just don't understand what it's like to be constantly battling with anxiety surrounding these stupid blood clots!
So...i'll stop rambling now...but i want you to know that what did is so right...and i need to learn to be more like you and listen to my body! stupid blood clots xxx xxx

It is hard for people to understand our illness unless they have walked in our shoes.
You are all such wonderful people, and i know I never would have made it this far without you.
Hopper I have a questions where are your muscle pains? Cuz I find the my upper torso and shoulders are where I ache a lot, could it be the meds????? Im not offically off coumadin for a few months i wonder if they will go away then hmmm....
I am sorry about your friend who doesn't understand. Sometimes people don't want to be bothered, but sometimes I think they see us and say if it could happen to him/her then it could happen to me and not being around us makes it go away - at least for them. It took me a long time to get over the hurt and relaize this when I was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago.

I'm so glad that you got your mom to take you to the ER..... and I'm extra happy that you were not having another PE. This is a scary time on a very low dose of coumedin, but you did the right thing. I don't check in as often, but it seems like someone (God??!) has been nudging me to check out DS more often in the last few days. It's been interesting to see you and Dawn on here.... plus hopper (nancy) and everyone else from the last year. I am beyond grateful for all the support and love that we all receive from our DS-PE support friends....
Get some rest, try to let go of the stress (much easier said than done especially for me) and take a deep breath. You're doing so much better than I can ever imagine I will do. I'll probably have to place a reservation for a hospital room if and when they take me off!! :) I'm such a worry wart!
Love you my friend!!! hugs.... Lori
I still pray that this pain will somehow go away, but after a year and 1/2, I think I am stuck with it and am told I have to learn to deal with it for the rest of my life -gee thanks healthcare community -of which I am a member. I would never tell a patient of mine, "Well, you'll just have to learn to live with it." You did the right thing -you are a survivor and sometimes you have to do what you have to do to continue to survive. Blessings, Teri
