Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Also definitely worth purchasing some "travel insurance" through a specialist provider. Not sure how that works in the US, but here in the UK, I am looking to buy some travel insurance for my honey moon. My other half was getting quotes for around 35 ($60) for one trip, whereas my quote was double that given the PE. Again, def worth it!
You might make a point to get a med alert bracelet (or similar) for traveling as well. I always have mine on, since it can speak for me if I can't.
