Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I am thankful for many things...but there is one huge one that applies to you all: I am so thankful to have met so many wonderful people on here! I know I have met some true life-long friends that care for me. This site has really restored my faith in humanity... I think its sucha beautiful thing when people come together like this, I am now sure that there are great caring people in this world who will go out of their way to make you feel better!
So thank you all so much!

I plan to overdose on turkey before I head into surgery on Monday :) Then again, after 20 years in the Navy, hospital food is a rare priviledge (sort of like Navy chow - I'm one of the few that actually like this stuff).

I pray that you all have a wonderful day tomorrow- happy thanksgiving! This thanksgiving is especially memorable because I have so much to be thankful for. I am so incredibly glad to be alive and so grateful for you all! The only downside about tomorrow....
I have read that pumpkin pie can be high in vitamin K (one cup of canned pumpkin is 40 mcg, but I'm only going to have a small slice.... of course who can have thanksgiving and give up the pumpkin pie? Not me! I'll have to take it easy on the greens and maybe have 1/2 cup of red wine to counteract everything. I know most doctor's would cringe on this one, but it's one day and I'll sip on a very small amount of wine for a few hours and just relax- no thoughts are allowed about PE?! God bless everyone :)
