By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Some facts about generic vs brand name drugs:
There can be MORE or LESS active drug from a generic drug.
Why?
* Because the FDA requires that only 80% to 125% of the actual drug must be in the generic version.
* There are many different generic versions. So if you take one 'brand' of generic you may be getting just 80% of the drug.
* Then you refill it and you may get a different generic brand with 125% of the active ingredients. (Or vice versa)
* That's a 45% difference in the actual drug which could affect you.
* For people sensitive to fillers or colors, a generic might be a problem to you. (Or vice versa)
The generic brands are most problematic for drugs with a narrow range such as:
Thyroid medication
Anti-seizure medication
Blood thinners
Antidepressants
Antipsychotics
Asthma medications
Immunosuppressants
[As you can see Warfarin/Coumadin is in that list]
. I've also found that for me an Extended Release forum of any drug is a problem.

generics of the same drug. I asked my pharmacist and he said they have to take what they get. They assume the purity is checked before the drug is sent. Once it gets here from the 3rd world country we do not recheck it. He said report it to the Federal Health Dept.

That was in 2009. There is 'supposed' to be a law developed that will halt that. I'm still waiting. :) Would that affect our foreign relations with China and India?
