Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hi Everyone. I'm new here. On 24.02.17 I had an ultrasound done and my left leg as it was swollen and it wouldnt go down. Now a little back story, I also have lupus and usually get swollen legs when I'm flaring or after a long day. So when my leg started to swell I wasnt too worried. However a few days of taking steriods usually takes the swelling down. This time it didnt and thats how I ended up getting the doppler.
Anyways I was in the hospital for 16days as my lupus started to flare from the stress of being there. Got clexane shots in my belly for the first few days then was put on warfarin and sent home on a thereputic dose of 3.07 INR.
3 weeks (29.03.17) later I was back at work and doing great then I got this warn sensation in my chest area that lasted like 3 secs but I panicked and then came the dizzyness (I didnt know it was a side effect of the warfarin) rushed to the ER had xray of my chest and blood gas oxygen levels checked and they came back fine. Only stayed overnight. My INR was low though and they adjusted my warfrin dosage. Diagnoses unlikely PE. (Could have been a panic attack)
I am so very glad I found this forum. I feel nervous/ anxious out of the blue. I believe its panic attacks. Sometimes my heart rate increases and that scares me even more. I get gas alot too and anytime i feel movement I get scared which triggers a bowel movement. Will this feeling ever go away?
I have a clinic appointment with my Rhematologist on 05.04.17 who is going to be monotoring my INR levels with the new dosage.
