Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I'm on coumadin but don't know if I have gout or not.
Perhaps you can help answer some questions?
Does gout always show up as reddened joints? When I went to Urgent Care last week with sudden. VERY painful left hand mostly centralized around the thumb area.
The doc at Urgent Care asked if I'd been dx'd with gout ever. (no) Then he took xrays and found a tiny bit of arthritis at that joint.
Bottom line---- he thought it MIGHT be arthritis. Gave me a wrist/hand stabilizer to wear and some pain pills.
The pain is still there but slightly lessened.
My question, again, does gout always show up as red and swollen joints, because I didn't have that, so much.
