At five months into recovery I personally think this all sounds pretty normal. It's a pain that the process is so slow, but it just is. I always said I guess I needed to learn to be more patient, because it's one of the biggest things I gained while recovering from PE.

I am just over 3 months and feel similarly. At the moment I have a cold and the weather is freezing. I feel puffed walking up stairs, really tired and when I breathe deeply, move awkwardly, cough or yawn my lung hurts. I have no patience and was starting to feel a bit better before the cold so am really disheartened by feeling this way. I have odd palpitations and my heart rate was a bit fast yesterday morning. I think we are normal in the world of PE healing. Nothing is a severe symptom just little things that alert me to the fact all is not right yet.

Fingers crossed we will feel MUCH better soon and your CT scan brings reassurance and good news.

I'm 4 months post PE, I know what you mean! I was driving home today and I nearly fell asleep at the wheel! Only did an 8hr day (which is normal). My resting HR is 85-90bpm and I get breathless whilst speaking to people. I read that Warfarin can cause the heart flutters and fatigue.

Commonly reported side effects of Warfarin sodium include international normalised ratio increased, breathing difficulty, atrial fibrillation/flutter, weakness, nausea.
I'm not sure how reliable this page is but it has done surveys so I tend to believe it.

It certainly is a slow road to recovery but I'd rather get better slowly than not get better at all.

I am over a year out now, and am just FINALLY getting to the point where I don't feel exactly like you describe every day. I still get tired easily, my resting heart rate is still higher than pre-PEs, any kind of minor cold or stress still hit me much harder than they used to, BUT... I am getting better, and honestly didn't notice a significant improvement until this last month. If I looked back to when I was 5 months out, I knew I felt better than right after my PEs, and I did feel an improvement after stopping warfarin, but it really has been just recently that I actually feel like I can function as a normal person again (although a very tired one sometimes!)! I haven't even had to call or see my doctor in the last 3 months! She probably thinks I've been abducted by aliens! It has been a SUPER SLOW and frustrating process for me, probably because I have zero patience with myself and want to be better NOW, not when my body feels like getting better. Things will get better.

This PE recovery is sure testing me and reminding me that I have been through a major trauma. At least my body knows what I'm refusing to admit.
