Does anyone know if Chewing tobacco can affect your IRN levels?

I can only talk about nicotine, not the leaf itself. I was on nicotine patches when I started on warfarin and not one doc said that it would affect my INR, and it didn't seem to. Though that was 21 mgs transdermal over the course of 24 hours.

Also about nicotine and beyond INR - it's a vasoconstrictor if you chew it, smoke it, or absorb it thru your skin and so very, very bad for people who clot. Once I found out I had a clotting disorder, I stopped using patches and just finished my quit cold turkey.

About 1/2 way down there is a study on heavy smokless tobacco use and INR.
