I've been on xarelto the whole time (since March), and I haven't had any issues with it that I can tell. I like not having to keep up with the INR stuff, and being able to eat normally too.

There is a free coupon card for it right now good through the end of the year. Without the coupon I had to pay $45 a month, but since I got the coupon card, I get it completely free each month for now!! :)

My legs get achy with very little exercise which I have attributed to the Xarelto just because I had no problems exercising before I was on the drug. It started two weeks into the treatment. No stomach issues.

I have been on Xarelto for well over a year now. No "major" issues. I do have problems with my stomach also. So, I do get stomach upset.
Talked with my MD and we decided to go the the 10mg instead of the standard 20mg dose. My stomach is a little easier.
However, I still get stomach upset once in a great while and I will for a few days go off the medication (not telling my MD) until the pain in my belly goes away. Then back on.
I too, like the idea of eating what I want, when I want.
I Don't like the idea of not being able to test for effacasy (sp?) or an effective antidote. I am in the medical field, Phlebotomist. So I know just enough..... lol...
I keep an eye on what my body is telling me and make adjustments. I also, have major issues with my endocrine system which adds a "unique twist" to how I feel every day. So being achy I cannot attribute to the Xarelto. Good luck ask questions,stay informed!

I have been on Xarelto since April and have have no problems with it whatsoever. Have cut myself a couple of times and have not had any issues with the bleeding. Also have not noticed anything out of the ordinary. I also got the free coupon and was just told that I will be on anti-coagulants for the rest of my life. When the free coupon is done I will have to make a decision if I stay on Xarelto or switch to something else.

So I haven't heard of going to 10 mg of xarelto. Is that because you are low risk?

I've been on it for 13 months now. The only problem I've had is massively terrible periods. Bleeding is so bad I'm home bound 2 days/month and I've become anemic due to that monthly blood loss. Other than that, no problem. :)

I'm a lifer, I have a hyper-clotting disorder, (forget which one)
With my stomach issues and other meds I take and thoroughly discussing with my Primary and Cardiologist. it was agreed that 10mg will work for me.

The standard dose recommended by the drug company is 20mg. MD's follow that regime.

I was on Xarelto for 4 months and I was very achy. Once I came off it, the pain and aching went away. I think that may be one of the side effects. I will say I enjoyed not having to test my INRs.

The Xarelto is making my menstrual bleeding excessive. The severe monthly bleeding slowly chipped away at my iron stores (was tested for anemia last Fall and was fine, after a few more Xarelto periods I was diagnosed with anemia last December). I've had extensive tests with my obgyn to rule out any cancers or other reproductive causes for my bleeding.
