More promising new about MAYBE keeping people safer while using Pradaxa and others.

"A follow-up subanalysis of the most influential atrial-fibrillation (AF) trial of dabigatran etexilate (Pradaxa, Boehringer Ingelheim), an oral antithrombin alternative to warfarin, identified a common gene variant that seems to influence the bleeding risk associated with the drug but not its antithrombotic efficacy [1]."

Thanks for the updates, this is the one thing that would keep me off the new drugs. Hopefully they come up with something effective

I have no clue if this drug is being used to reverse bleeding in the brain that 'might' have been caused by the newer anti-coags.

But I found it interesting. (I'm a pack rat)

"According to the FDA release, Sun is voluntarily recalling one lot of Nimodipine Capsules, 30 mg, which are used to decrease problems due to bleeding in the brain. The recall came after a customer complained that there were crystals of nimodipine in the solution.

There have been no reports of adverse events, and the FDA says the clinical health implications of the crystals is unknown. But the agency warned that the crystals might mean the product is no longer "bioequivalent and may potentially affect patients who are being treated for a medical emergency."
