Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I hear your pain. I just got sentenced to another month of no driving b/c of my near fainting spells, and left another doc scratching his head as to why.
Did your doc suggest/recommend any relaxation/stress reduction methods? I know many here have had success with medication, progressive relaxation, therapy and/or medications. I keep wishing someone could tell me it WAS anxiety so that I could just take some Xanax and be done with it (but today's doc said he didn't think so). (sigh)...
I think it's a great idea to see a hemotologist. It's helpful to have a blood expert on the case, and it might ease your mind to know what the "cause" was. If there is a genetic factor, then you can at least have an explanation for the "why?"
I hope you feel better soon. I wish I could have been there to give you a real hug this morning. I've had days like that too... Sometimes we just need to cry, just because!
