Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I'm a lifer too and not pleased about it------ but it's necessary.
I'm also a lifer after three clotting events. The most recent was in January of 2010, so I'm more than two years out now. This is a great forum and I'm really glad you found us!
I had assumed, as had my doctor, that the PE was because of pregnancy, but apparently not. I am a clotter and now on warfarin for life.
