By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Hi everyone, for the newbies I've not been on here since around October last year but I had multiple pe's in oct 2011 and was off work for nearly 5 months. Things are going well. I can't say I'm back to normal as my normal has changed somewhat since my pe's. my lungs still ache and I seem to have many other things going on but I have recently been diagnosed with aps. Think it's very rare but it certainly explains a lot. Awaiting test results to find out if I have lupus. Or sle as its also known. I really need to make appoint of reading up a bit more re the symptoms etc but to be honest I just get up each day and try to get on with it as much as I can. Extreme tiredness comes and goes along with all my other aches and pains which would appear to be developing over time. Will keep you all posted with any updates. What have I missed since October?
