Just a vent - really quick.

My foot that I've been complaining about? Yeah, I finally made it to the orthopedist and I've ruptured my plantar fascia. So now I have a lovely purple cast on my foot. Not my first, won't be my last, but arg.

Some of my stomach problems have been explained, I have a bad gallbladder. My PCP dr, the ER dr, and the surgeon all agree its bad and needs to come out BUT my labs are ok and even though I have a polyp on my gallbladder its still not enough to "justify" taking it out. So I have to wait until I have a hydascan to show its not working properly.

My head is just my head. I basically am just trying to get by because of the other stuff, all the while knowing its not going right. Ugggg....the rain

Are you able to stay off your foot? How long in a cast?

Oh man! I ruptured my plantar fascia in Nov. 2011 and was in a cast till March 2012 when I finally had to have surgery to repair it with a graft. I was then non-weight bearing for 10 weeks. I was out of my cast and walking boot completely by August 2012! Almost a year but now things are great with the foot. My advice is get in with a good physical therapist as soon as you're allowed and be vigilant about doing the work at home. Even after surgery things didn't seem like they'd ever be normal until I meet my therapist and she really really helped me thru it. Oddly enough I also had my gallbladder out May 2012 so right in the middle of the foot nightmare. So, I literally feel your pain. Hang in there! It will get better!!

have either of you taken a fluorquinolone? Cipro or Levaquin? I ruptured my gastrocnemius tendon years ago after taking Cipro. after that point they reported that FQs are associated with Achilles tendon rupture. some on this board seem to have had their IIH triggered by FQs.

The foot stuff seems so much easier than IIH! Now admittedly, I've been dealing with the feet stuff for longer too, but that's besides the point. Fortunately I am able to stay down for the most part so hopefully this will be a quicker than usual round of foot stuff.

As for Cipro - I knew the Levaquin link to IIH but had never heard about Cipro but it makes more sense. Between post surgery infections (I've had a couple) and other times, I've been prescribed Cipro several times. However, none were close to when I was first diagnosed with IIH....as for the tendon, I just figured that was my foot being my foot - stranger injuries have happened.

Anyone ever have a time with intense head pain followed by a period of constant eye blinking and mild facial twitches? It just happened and now I'm really weak and just chilled.

No. I never took Cipro or Levaquin. But yes there is a correlation with Levaquin and Achilles' tendon rupture. My plantar fascia ruptured just like an Achilles and was all wrapped up inside when they went to fix it. I had plantar fasciitis for a long time and had one steroid injection. Both of which weaken the fascia. Mine was a freak accident at work.

I agree that all I went through with my foot from beginning to end feels like nothing in comparison to IIH.

Taking out my gallbladder was the best thing I did. No more attacks and after 10 days I was good as new.
