Absolutely. I've heard of brain surgery causing seizures. Any brain damage that might have happened for any reason can make seizures more likely. Most of those I've heard about have been controlled by medication. There are a ton of epilepsy support forums out there. It's a good idea to join a few and talk with folks. You'll find some in the same boat as you.

If you remember what your doctor told you, what kind of seizures are they?
- Tonic Clonic (convulsive loss of conciousness),
- simple partial seizures (while conscious funny smells, noises, intense temporary fear, the size of objects warping),
- complex partial (while unconscious do/say wacky stuff, walk, sit and stare while doing a repetitive motion, etc.)
- absence (unconscious blank stare for a few seconds)?
- Other? (tons of other kinds!)

They are grand mal, really dangerous at times. I had pink eye last May and I was in my mom's bathroom cleaning out my eye and I went into a seizure, fell into her sick and took the whole sink out of the wall! They had to turn off the water to our house.

I have been on anti-seizure medication since then. So just over a year now. I went from October until May of this year completely seizure free and then had one in May, and one in June. They now cause my left shoulder to come out of joint and it is really painful and will keep coming out of joint for weeks after until it heals. Needless to say, my neurologist increased my dose in June when he heard I had two seizures! I am now awaiting a date for my new EEG to be done.
