I hope that you were able to see a neuro-opthamologist. How are you doing now?

I don't think there is one here, but I must check for one. I am still seeing the same. The doctor thinks I am dehydrated making the muscles not work right in my eyes. I guess he shelved the dry eye possibility. I hope to find out something. I hope this isn't the pseudo tumor. I take Diamox at a low dose of 250 mg twice a day. They had me at 500 twice a day until this dehydration problem. If it is the pseudo tumor, I wonder if the Diamox will help get rid of this problem? I don't know much about the pseudo tumor and what Diamox does other than it reducing the fluid that keeps me from having those horrific headaches. I don't understand more than that.

You should go see an eye doc. Even if you dont have a neuro opthamologist, an eye doc. can see in your eyes- Swelling on the optic nerve causes such things, and its from the pseudo. Ive had this problem, along with pulsatile tinitis and other weird things... If it is related, it means your ptc is getting worse. Its real important to either rule it out or diagnose it. Good luck

I seen the eye doctor and he thinks it's the muscle in my eye or eyes, I don't remember. He thinks its from dehydration. He did a visual field test and didn't see any changes. If the pic is getting worse, what would they do? I am not having headaches. I take 250 mg of Diamox twice a day. I'very had the pic for awhile, but am just starting to learn more about it.

As long as you have seen the eye doc. since the visual changes- You should be ok. The eye doctor would be able to see if it was swelling on your optic nerves, right away. Thats what you have to worry about with PTC. If it's left untreated, it can cause blindness. They would treat you with more Diamox (I see that you had your dose lowered, that could make your pressure go back up, hence the new symptom). PTC goes in and out of remission. Unfortunately, you are never cured. It will be a life long battle. You know your body best. If you feel like something is worse- all you can do is tell them, and advocate for yourself. They would most likely do an Lumbar Puncture to get a real reading on your pressure. When I have issues, thats the first thing my neurologist does (after he rules out regular migranes). Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. There has been swelling on my optic nerve. It hasn't went away. I didn't understand. I thought as long as there is no loss in vision that it is okay. Evidently this isn't true. I am really just learning about what to do. Every time they raise my Diamox, I get dehydration since I am taking another diuretic. I need the other diuretic for my high blood pressure. I am in a real fix. I have had some head pain I call it. It is just a sharp pain that comes and goes very quickly. I think it's different than before when I was having bad headaches. But isn't the visual disturbance a sign the pressure is up? My plan is to ask my neurologist to do a lumbar puncture. I see her on the 18th. Not soon enough, but I don't think I can see her sooner. I see my eye doctor next Tuesday. I hope something will come out of seeing both of them upcoming.
