Pseudotumor cerebri (PTC) is a neurological disorder that is characterized by increased intracranial pressure, in the absence of a tumor or other diseases affecting the brain or its lining. Diagnosis requires brain scans and lumbar puncture. Characteristic symptoms are headache, transient visual obscurations or transient visual loss in one or both eyes usually lasting...
So as some of y'all may have read/seen on Facebook, I left on Wednesday to go meet up with a friend in Southern Maryland. We met at about 4:30PM. We then went to dinner and then to stay at her house that night. We made shirts (for what is next) and just had so much fun. We were crying from laughing so hard! At about 2:00AM she decided we should probably try to get some sleep...we were to be out at about 9:00AM in the morning! So she went to sleep, and it took me some time to fall asleep. I fell asleep at about 2:30AM and at about 5:15AM, I woke up with a really sore throat. Even swallowing hurt so bad! So, needless to say, I did not get anymore sleep.
When she woke up, we got our showers and got ready and headed off to meet Stephanie in Virginia. We met her at about 11:30AM. She took about an hour to get ready, and then we went to pick Katie up from work at 1:00PM. After picking Katie up, we went to grab something quick to eat and got on our way!
It took us a few hours to get down to Virginia Beach. An hour before we got to our destination, Stephanie and Katie were talking about something in the front seats and Autumn and I were so confused! Stephanie had Katie post something online since she was driving, but us two had no clue at that point....until Stephanie told Katie to show us! So Katie told Autumn to look up the post and this is what it said....
"I wonder when I should tell the girls that I am with that we have a meet and greet with The Band Perry tonight?"
OMG! When I read it, and reread it five times, my reaction was "WHAT?! OH MY GOD!" And, so, that is where the story gets more exciting... :)
It was the Brad Paisley Virtual Reality Tour and he had five others artists that performed prior to him; on the "Virtual Opry Stage" was Jana Kramer (who we saw...love her, always have! I think she was great!), Kristen Kelly (did not see), and Love and Theft (did not see). After Jana, we were walking around and just hanging out around where the meet and greet entrance was. Scotty McCreery was on the big stage, so his meet and greet was first. After his group was let in, they were all done, etc., it was time for us, The Band Perry group (as we call ourselves, The Fans Perry) to line up! We decided to let everyone line up ahead of us so we could be last. Smart, huh? ;)
At about 7:15PM we were let backstage and lined up. Their first cousin was the one that handles all of the meet and greets and the telling of rules to everyone. So after she explained it to us, I asked, "Can we take them home with us?" and she replied, "You can ask!" Then, when we were next in line, somehow we ended up on the topic of how we all met (with their cousin) and explained it to her...she was so surprised and thought they'd feel so honored! She asked our names and remembers them now, haha. This is how we met....
We all went to the Maryland State Fair show on September 1st and it was terrible weather and after seven songs, the show was cancelled. It was rescheduled, however, for September 2013! So long to wait....so we all decided to plan something else before that. A week ago, we decided that, since they were playing in Virginia Beach, we should go there! We bought our tickets and booked a hotel for one night and then planned rides!
So when we got to walk up to them, I was second to give hugs, I hugged Reid, then Kimberly (also known as KP!!!), and Neil. After hugs, I immediately said, "Can we take you home?!" Neil responded with "Yes!" and KP responded with "please do! We will sing you to sleep! I'll sing you a lullaby!" Oh my gosh, how sweet and absolutely awesome is it to have Kimberly PERRY say that you!!!!
We all got our autographs, told them our stories, KP commented my shirt that I made saying "Your shirt is so cute! I love it! Thank you SO much for making that!!" Then we got our pictures taken by their photo guy and then Neil asked me for another hug, so I gave him one, obviously. Then I asked KP for one and when we were going in for the hug, me about 40%, her 50% and then she realized oh! We can't hug at this percentage! So she and I both moved in closer to hug, but too fast at the same time and BAM! We totally butted heads...hard!!!!! I was so stunned and felt so bad! I just immediately said "OMG I'm so sorry KP!!" and she goes "No don't be! I love headbutts!"
Anyhow, they were amazing while performing and that was by far the most amazing experience. I have waited a few years to be able to get the chance to meet them, and especially KP!
While they were performing, I realized that where we hit heads, was on my shunt! And it was sore...still is! I just feel that any pain was TOTALLY worth it, though. :)
But let me be clear; I have no headaches or eye pain whatsoever from that amazingly fate-controlled headbutt. :)
However, my throat hurts so bad because I obviously was not going to stop singing or laughing or talking. My ears are driving me nuts and my nose too! I have a little headache that feels like a cold headache.
I think this is a cold...it will be my absolute first one since diagnosed with PTC in 2009. I dealt with no appetite and only seven hours sleep in two days because I wanted so bad to see them live again...and to meet them!

I hope you start feeling better though and you are so lucky that the headbutt didn't "anger" your shunt! It is so nice to get away sometimes and forget that we are as sick as we are and just have some fun!
