I make my appts nearly 6 mos in advance and then about 4 weeks prior, call to remind them of and plea for special attention to my headaches. So far, so good. They've been very willing/nice to help me.
You're not foolish at all -- these daily life things all of a sudden spring up every so often. We can't all be psychic or on top of our game 100% of time. :)
