I've found a few foods that settle on my stomach better than others in the mornings and I stick to that. Most notably, a banana smoothie made with frozen banana pieces, coconut milk, and some protein & flax powder. Everybody's gentle foods are different. If you find some stock up or pre-cook and put it in the freezer so you don't have to actually fix something when you don't feel good.
Yes, I had that as well. I was never sure what to associate it with though, high pressure, medications, severe stress, etc. For a while that was my worst symptom, I could deal with the pain, but nausea and vomiting made me absolutely miserable. I ended up seeing a GI doctor who thought it was due to stomach irritation from Diamox. I lowered the dose, which helped a little initially. I used marijuana during the worst stages of the nausea, but what helped me most I think was trying to eat very small, but frequent meals. My husband made all my little snacks and put them in the fridge, so I could just grab them instead of being sick and exhausted trying to make it for myself. When it was really bad, I would slowly sip on hot tea with lemon or raw honey and that always seemed to help too.
I wish I could give you more answers because I know how horrible that can be. My nausea and vomiting stage lasted about 6 months straight, it was the most miserable I've ever been. My nausea almost stopped overnight, it was around the time I got all my blood levels into good ranges everything mellowed out after that. My IIH also started getting better and my stress level reduced with therapy, then I lowered the diamox too, so I'm still unsure what helped most.
Sending well wishes and positive vibes your way, I hope you feel better soon! *gentle hugs*
the feeling sick eased the longer i had been on my medication, but it is only now i have come off the diamox that i realise how much better i feel all the time on the nuasea front. so i guess for me some of that couldnt be helped but at least getting my pressure down and getting used to the medication eased some of the worst of it for me.
I don't feel so alone in dealing with this and you all gave me great advice, esp with eating smaller more frequent meals, the morning smoothie/foods I can tolerate and to avoid rich foods.
I'm not on any IHH medication since I had my VP shunt but I guess my pressure is still too high and I need to get my shunt adjusted (I have an appt, with my NS in Dec since he is out of town at the moment).
Thanks again for everyone's help.
