I do know smoking in pregnancy is linked to low birth weight and smoking in the home of babies increases the risk of SIDS, not sure what else may be linked.
in my family this is a familial anatomical problem. my mother has it, my son has it, we have the same face and jaw. I got better after jaw surgery.
