shunt failure fix itself?

I may sound crazy to some of you right now, but I'm hoping someone out there has had this happened. Last spring I had all the signs of my vp shunt failing, high pressure head pain, whooshing in my ears etc. On my way to the ER I felt my shunt tubing in my abdomin start draining, and when I had an lp my pressure was only raised a little. So the ER doctor said that maybe my shunt had been blocked, but opened back up.

So I have been having awful headaches the past few weeks. Last Thursday I noticed that I started having whooshing in my ears. Then I noticed more and more pressure in my head. All of my high pressure symptoms came back especially really bad pain in my neck and back. I waited to go into the ER because I wanted to be sure it was my shunt failing. I didn't want to have an lp for no reason. So, Sunday my high pressure symptoms slowly started going away. I mean I still have a vicious headache, but the whooshing is gone.
So has anyone else had this happen? I have had 2 revisions and they have both been from ventricles collapsing on the shunt, so I'm wondering if ventricles can reopen? Any info anybody can offer is welcome.

Sorry,I can't help because I have an lp shunt . We become very sensitive to our bodies when we have this disease . I would get it looked into to make sure your shunt isn't clogged again. I have also been dealing with terrible headaches,but I can't find a doctor to even do an lp. Hope you have a good doctor. I wish you good health.

Hi Ladies, I dint have a shunt but my bro does. He had german measles as kid he developed hydrocephalus, it left him severely retarded, non verbal. I can tell when his pressures are up. Swollen eyes, lethargic, his shunt scar is swollen. He mirrors how I used to look, I think its this weather surrounding the US right now, lots of preesure swings coming at us in all directions south, north and west colliding and seems to be holding in the 29 range. I used to start vomiting at this range.
As far as shunts I know positively with my brothers his ayto corrects, his is over 30yrs old, pressure dictates its function, it works off of syphion and ball bearings and intra cranial pressure.
