After my second LP shunt it would take about 4-5 hours before the low pressure severe headaches kicked in and I had to lie down.
Now it happens in 3 hours and if I don't lay/lie (I can never tell which is the right word to use) down and push it to 4 hours I have a sharp stabbing headache pain and I throw up.
a couple of days ago I did this and feel worse than ever.
My low back has been starting to hurt more (prob. because I am walking more) but now hurts almost every time I move and my right leg sciatica kicks in sooner...which my NS said was prob due my first shunt revision since "all the nerves tend to fall to one side" since I was on my side during the surgery.
I feel like my body is breaking down, my gosh I meet people in their 70's who can do more than I can...I mean I know I'm an old sould but come on!
I'm still waiting for my new NS to call and make an appt. and I'm seeing my old NS one more time so I can tell him what is going on and look at my incision since it is all hard and lumpy.
you know I just want to be normal again (yes I know normal is relative, but you know what i mean)like I know all of us want to be.

Thats EXACTLY how I felt when they Removed my shunt, I still have lots of bad days, though this last tap and the drugs I got with it have helped immensely.
They put me on Lyrica and I wound up in physical therapy and seeing a rehab doctor...Its been almost 15 months and I am just starting to gain use of my leg more and more over the last month.
I hope they can help With the sciatica and the pressure, Being flat actually hurt my back and leg more, but my pressures are high not low.
Many days I felt absolutely hopeless dealing with all the complications. I would not have wished it on my worst enemy.

you are always such a great help to me. I can't take topamax but am going to ask about getting physical therapy. Yeah, that is so weird that when I laying flat my sciatica hurts more, which is so weird.
