I see shadows, spots, little worm like wiggly things. Floaters. Other than that...sometimes I momentarily see numbers and letters upside down and/or just for a second get confused about whether something is coming toward me or moving away from me...It is weird and it's usually when I have a REALLY bad HA and am stressed or in a hurry.

Every m orning my daughter wakes with her friends, the fire flies. That's how she describes them. And as soon as she gets oriented they go away. They also appear at night when she is really tired.

Also, what is a circular light shining, like as a stop light, she sees as a star. I just recently found out that she has seen those star lights her whole life. We drew pictures of what a lamp post or stop sign looks like and hers were weird. Her paps is almost gone, so guess this is just another part of the IH?

April, I see all manner of things and have done so for years.
The most obvious are the fire works,black spots, halos,millions of floaters, black smudge marks on anything that is not black!
It was a real problem when I was painting the house.I could never tell if it was painted enough as it always looked dirty.

The big deal things I see are, the spiders and floating patterns.
The spiders are in my right eye side vision. When , foe example, I am watching TV, they climb up and down the curtains and across the floor. Good job I am not afraid of them! They also run across the key boards if I am too tired or spent too long on.

The floating patterns are quite fun. If, I have a sweater on with a pattern, if I lift my arm, when I put it down, the pattern "floats" in the air, slowly falling to the ground. Print on papers follows me across the room as well.
It has gotten less but again, if I get overtired or my pressure is very high, they all come back.

ihateptc,I see a star as well! Very bright and shiny, in my middle vision. I see stars a lot but this one has always been there. When I close my eyes at bedtime, there it is, shining away. I also see, and this is a bit worrying, ( for my mental health!) our old bedroom , that we first had when we married. Its as real as could be. My eyes are closed but if I open them slowly, I can see the bedroom, then as I fully open my eyes it fades to the real one. Really weird. Cath.

Seeing things can be so scary.

It could be a lot of things. What do you see? If it is something detailed, like hampsters crawling around on your pillow or a Ferrari in your driveway, that could be a simple partial seizure. (look up temporal lobe epilepsy in wikipedia)

If it is something simple, like squiggy lines, a geometric pattern, etc., it could be a migraine aura.

If it's dots and floaters, there's a thousand things that could be.

I'm sure there are a billion other possible causes, but those are the ones I'm familiar with.

A trip to the opthamologist would probably be a good idea, as a start, then your neurologist.

I see strange things, like wiggly things that are not there. Since I have lost part of my periphial vision on the right side I see shadows on that side all the time. Weirds me out sometimes.

I forgot to say, that when you see things like a Ferrari , ( Sea sprite, I love that idea!) or the patterns , like I do, its a condition called
Charles Bonne syndrome.
I only have a small bit of it but if you Google it, it is really fantastic.
Strangely, who ever may be experiencing it, are not afraid. Some thing I agree with. I think, I knew it couldn't be true and found it quite funny.

But some people see all kinds of things, like a house, people, and they would be hard pressed to say they are not real.

I see lots of things, but i mainly see road maps. These are my blood vessels, they appear as maps all over my vision. I see a black spot, and lots of silver spots all over, I really see them when i look up. Makes me wonder if that happens casue maybe not getting enough blood/oxygen to brain. I hate when pressue is high and I see everything pulsating with my heartbeat. Sometimes I see everything in red and yellow only, when this happens i call NO and say wth is going on. I get tunnel vision I hate that also.

I am not able to read anymore. It makes me so dizzy and sick feeling. So sad about this.
I so see things out of the corner of my eye occasionally and do a double take - nothing there. This can make driving difficult. I now barely drive with the headaches I have. I really honestly do not feel safe. I kinda feel pathetic. I do not want to drive at night at all. The car lights kill me. I sometimes wonder what is happening to me. But it is so hard to function with these headaches.
My doctor told me "don't let this take over your life" - so easy for him to say it is not his life - he is not in pain every day. That pissed me off that day!!
Sorry I just had to share that with you guys - glad I"m not alone with the seeing things...so good to know.

Yep. All sorts of weird things...sometimes it is just odd, and I know that it is not real, like when my shower curtain pattern starts to pulse and become 3D.

Other times, it seems real for an instant, like I see a shadow of a person in the peripheral of my vision. Or I see something move, but nothing is there.

Sometimes I've seen a black bug, felt it too, crawl across my arm. Like a hallucination.

Flickers of light, blurring, etc. etc..

So glad to find out from others here, that it is part of disease, since no doctors will tell you that it is normal to have such strange visual disturbances.

I've never done street drugs, so it freaks me out, to feel out of control, and that I'm going crazy.

Buttercup....My family still doesn't understand why I have such anxiety to drive, but it does not feel safe anymore.. Besides HA's and visual problems, I also get vertigo, disorientation, and numbness in feet and hands. It is so discouraging sometimes, to not feel normal at all.

Oh yes! I get mostly everything I have read.... My thing is what I refer to as the "black dog" effect. Like I have heard truckers can suffer from.... Or it was a movie.... Lord who knows lol... When I drive, especially at night, it looks like black animals or shadow people jump in front of me....needless to say I keep my night driving to a very minimum. But I see that at home too, my eyes and whole head is driving me BONKERS!

Yup see them constantly now that my Paps are worse in my left eye. However my neuro did say you don't have to have Paps to have visual disturbances, it can be a normal symptom of PTC.

Have you been to an opthalmologist?

Yes... I see weird things all the time. Like when I wake up I tend to stare at the wall and its like its 3d. Sometime when im in the dark I stare at the smoke alarms light and sometime it freaks me out cause it looks likes it moves. I see shadows all the time that are not there. This has been going on for years for me. I've gotten use to it. Now I would be worried if u started seeing elfs and stuffs.
