Was it worth it I ask this because I notice many people who have stents end up having to get a shunt anyways
Also how fast did headaches whooshing nose and all that jazz go away
When did you realize the stents wasn't working if it didn't work
After gettting the stents put in how soon was you able to go home
Sorry for all the questions but my NS wants to try stenting before shunting and I'm having second thoughts about it I'm a poor college student and I don't want to have to pay for the stenting if it isn't going to work

If I'm honest, I'm still debating if it was worth it! But that's me, you will only know if it's worth it for you by getting it done! The procedure itself is nothing concerning but my concern is that they can never be removed and due to the rareity, they couldn't tell me if I should expect any problems in the future.
I had 2 overlapping stents done in my left transverse sinus 18 months ago after months of headaches, weeks of visual disturbances then 3 weeks of diamox not helping. Pressure was 46, I had lost 95% of my eyesight and the other 5% was double & blurry My headaches improved a few weeks after my surgery but soon came back, I STILL have Tinnitus 24/7 but my eyesight came back about 85%.
Apart from paps, I still have all the other symptoms despite no longer having high pressure. The fact that that paps resolved. vein no longer shows stenosis and pressure reduced, the stents are classed as a success.
I had no choice but to get them, I was told it was my only option and they had to act fast so my vision loss would not be permanent. If you have a certain % of stenosis and you need a stent then I believe a shunt won't help the vein therefore you would still have stenosis. I have never heard of anyone in the UK having the option like US, if you need stents you need them! Have you had the angio to see if you are eligable?
I was out after about 5 days of getting them in and it's quite unbelievable that you have no stitches and it's all done through a cannula (mines was in my groin) up to your brain. I was initially told 3 months recovery but don't lift anything more than a kettle for 6 weeks.
