Hi everyone! Hope all is well with everyone.

I just got over having a sinus infection/cold and within the past two days, I have a pain on the side of my head by my VP Shunt. I called my NS and asked them about it and they are going to have me do a CT of my head tomorrow.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? I was on antibiotics too, so I don't think my shunt would be infected??

Gbay, I get this al the time! I think, its when my pressure is up. It feels swollen and hurts like hell. I gave up going to the dr /hospital with it. All they ever did was a cat scan and say every thing was in place with no explanation for the pain .

I find it ususally passes in a day or two.When I was taking diomax, I would take an extra 250mgs and it did seem to help.

I don't have a shunt so i have no advice. I just hope you feel better soon!

I have the pain you describe all the time, took me 6 months of CT scans and now finally getting answers that it is not working. Now I do think some of the pain is scar tissue and weather related. But also think it is from increased pressure.

I'm having this same, sharp radiating pain right now. I was shunted in May...so I'd be curious if you find an answer. Hope you feel better soon =)
