Yesterday I was about a 7 on the pain rector scale. Suddenly for no reason at 745 last night the pressure just went away. I have no idea why. I went to bed at about a 1.5 and woke up the same. I'm at work right now and at about a 2.5 and just waiting for it to come back. Is this normal?
Also, at what point do you try to take pain meds? Right when you feel symptoms or when your a 5 or do you wait until you just can't stand it anymore? Just curious.
Thanks and I hope everyone is having a tolerable pain day!

It would probably be better to start earlier when pain starts, but be aware that the problem with pain medications is that you develop tolerance to their effectiveness with regular scheduled use after a while. I use ibuprofen right now. Sometimes I take a Benadryl at bedtime if I think a rough night is coming. My headache levels are minimal now, but I have used stronger stuff before.

I found that marijuana alleviated my pain due to IIH better than most other medications. Whenever the onset of pain symptoms began, I would use my vaporizer. Nausea was one of my worst symptoms and it also helped with that. I was able to function, eat well and rest. It also kept me very calm and happy, which I needed because of how depressing having IIH can be.

Thank you! I have actually thought of that. I wish it was legal here and I could vape it. I was hurting so bad one day my husband knows someone and he actually suggested it and he is anti-drug! LOL I am losing weight rapidly now even though the medication change has helped my symptoms about 75% so I'm happy about that.

For me it depends. I always have nausea and heart burn. It has to really sting for me to decide to take anything because throwing up messes me up horribly. I can't take anything because it makes my nausea worse. It like do I feel pain or nausea? Sometimes I stay with both! Diamox makes me really ill. Sometimes I can't figure which is worse. It just depends I guess if my ice pack doesn't help first.
