April 2010 I was DX'ed ,, SEPT. 22 2010 LP SHUNT now at 13 months into my DX I had been doing better then where I was I do take a hand full of meds to control the migraines but over all it's been some what under control . The last 3 weeks off and on but not every day I'm getting the ringing in my ears again and for over a month my so called good eye has been feeling funny with some pain but not bad,just has me alittle worried.
My vision has been acting alittle wierd too. I called My NO he's going to see me WEDS. am check my eye see if theres something going on.
Curious if anyone has expirenced this ,, SX returning I mean I know the pressure can go up and down but I've not had this happen it's always been high or low headaches....

Hi, I am brand new to this site.. nice to meet you. I have IH as well I had a LP shunt placed in Aug. 2010... about six months after the surgery all my symptoms returned, I was told by my neurosurgeon that they have a 50% failure rate in the first 5 years. It is very common for them to fail I am not saying that this is happening to you so please don't become alarmed maybe you need to go in and get it adjusted. They adjusted mine twice but it did not work, I hope I was some help..not sure.. take care ;)

I have a va shunt used to have a vp shunt. and I would say u need to see ur surgeon and insist he test ur shunt and make sure its still functioning properly. I dont know if it common but my shunt has malfunctioned several times would have to stop and really concentrate to remember all of them but maybe 5 times and only once did my paps come back so the NO may not be able to tell that something is wrong. I may have just caught it early but i wouldnt put if off till ur paps came back if I were you and risk permanent damage. Good luck!

The Shunt has been in for 8 months now and the setting of it was a challenge from day one ! It has been ajusted and settings moved 5 times already , the last time was JAN this year I think It moves by 10's and I'm at 100 we did play with it because i was having so much trouble when we moved it to 90 I went into LOW Pressure Headachesand 4 days later had to move it back to 100.I dont so much get to worked up I know anything could happen so I've prepared myself self for the unknown ! Sorta- speak ! It's just kinda throwing me off alittle not something thats happend yet It's usally hi or low headaches not the original SX that got me here in the first place... Iam going to see my Neuro OP at 9 am 2morrow he moved my appt up by 3 weeks after calling him Monday to tell him what was going on.... So I will know more then and Thurs. I see the Surgeon The 2 of them I'll have to say have been right on top of this with me ! so I got pretty lucky !!! Thanks Again guys !
