I have been so lucky with this "disease" (is that what this is?)
My 1st lumbar shunt lasted 10 years. Headaches weren't horrible on a daily basis, although I did have some discomfort doing things like riding a roller coaster, laughing uncontrolably and going to concerts, but those were easy fixes, skip the roller coasters and go to concert and laugh anyway!
About 4 years ago I needed a new shunt. I tried to avoid it for about 2 months, but when it was fixed I settled back into my life.
NOW...I'm having problems, not sure what this is though, it's not like the other times and I'm feeling a little discouraged. It's only been 4 yrs. The headaches are almost daily, not so painful I can't function, but just enough to make the day a little harder. I can't lay down flat, sleeping is becoming a horrible ordeal. I feel so tired all the time.
I really do try to keep positive, but I'm having a heck of a time!
