I was wondering if neck and shoulder pain were related to the pressure until yesterday. I had another spinal tap done and I had instant relief. I didn't have the head aches, tension and stiffness for almost 12 hours. So I believe myself that the increased csf can cause a lot of those symptoms. If your muscles are tense you would think it could cause problems with your nerves too. I do not have chairi. Just IH.

It took me a while to realize that my neck, shoulder and back pain was related to my high pressure. When I start haveing those pains I know it is time for me to head back to the neuro. They get so bad I can hardly move my neck.

Thanks for the support, this is all so awful to live with. Altough my pressures are only in the mid to low 20's and I normal weight I seem to have so many problemw tihe pressures. The neuro tells me that I have very poor brain compliance so I am guessing that that is part of the problem. I just don't understand what causes a flare......I can go for months and do ok then it flares and I am totally miserable. Anyone else experinece this?

I don't get it either Dottie :( I'm 5'5 and now 130 lbs. I lived at the YMCA almost my entire adult life! Diagnosed with anxiety/ depression in 05 ( this was my thyroid..yep mis diagnosed) and NOTHING has been the same since :( Not sure if Thyroid Disease started it all, car accident or what...but I hate it!!! Grrrrr

Thanks Heidi! I too am 5'6" 123lbs. Do any of you have problems reading? Today when I read my head throbs, can't focus and when I look up my vision is blurred. Can anyone relate?

That is actually how mine started..kind of. I've ALWAYS had throbbing..right side only for at least the last 7-8 years. Topamax has been a wonder drug for me. I've tried to go off it, but will wake up at least 3 mornings a week with throbbing. Side effects at first were DREADFUL..but they DO go away. So, the reading..end of this past Feb. I was studying..and had this awful pressure in my forehead..couldn't concentrate. I'd NEVER had a sinus infection and chalked it up to sinus. Then it went to my left eye. No blurriness, or double vision..lots of pain. Couldn't move my eyes up down or sideways. SOOO initially, forehead pressure, eye pain, stuffy ears, feeling of fluid in my ear, SORE STIFF NECK, I couldn't keep my eyes open..I squinted all day every day for weeks! They were just week or heavy or both?! I started Diamox and this helped with the ears and eyes for sure. Neck pain is still unbearable! I have however, noticed the neck pain has had periods of remission. I also look back, and realize I have probably had this issue for a long time. The Nuero has taken me off the Diamox ( 4th day now) and added Elavil to see if this will help the pain. I just finally saw an Opthamologist and DO NOT have paps. Since being off Diamox, my ears go from stuffy to burning, my neck is worse and eyes are getting that shooting pain again. But no paps? I'm setting tight trying to trust the Docs..
