I think its because of the paps, swollen optic nerves. Because they are swollen, you can imagine they are going to feel any movement and hurt.
Take, for example, if you sprained you wrist and it was swollen, it would hurt to move it. well, its the same idea with your eyes.
Also, over time, without us even being aware of it, we stop moving our eyes as much as is normal, because it hurts. We tend to move our heads instead. Over time , our eye muscles become slack and we have to exercise them to get them strong again. A hard thing to do if they are still swollen.
A friend of mine, who teaches Yoga, told me, to light a candle and stare at the flame for a few mins, covering each eye as you do.keep doing this for about 15mins a day.
I think it has helped but maybe taking some time out just did it! Give it a try, it can do any harm. Cath..
i too right now am having a lot of troubles with eye pain. i go see my pcp today, will mention it to her, as i am not scheduled to see my neuro or eye dr until next wednesday. i am concerned that this is a result of my pressure being up again or even worse, the effect of one of my meds----topamax, based on my research. the more days that go by, the more painful it gets, the more swollen they get, the more pressure there is, the less white the white of my eyes are. here's to hoping for the best!!!!
April---have you had yours checked out???
