Had my MRI and it showed that one of the many loops from my LP shunt appears to be pressing against one of my spinal nerves and that's what's causing the constant sciatica..I don't know if it could cause my constant low back pain.
My hubby thinks that the only way to resolve that is for it to be removed...the thought of another surgery overwhelms me, though I have to have another one anyway to resolve the low pressure headaches.

I'm so sorry that you got such crummy news. But, I am happy that the doctor may have discovered the cause for your ongoing sciatica pain. I suppose it's good that you found out before you have to go in for the low pressure surgery adjustment. The good news here is that there is hope that once the adjustments are made you will come out of surgery feeling better than ever before.
Has surgery been scheduled yet? Please keep us updated on your progress towards being pain free.

Actually I think that is good news. At least the MRI is painless and you found an answer to a problem that can be fixed. Yeah!!! It always amazes me how much they know, how much technology they have, yet they can't completely fix us.
Good luck with the surgery. Hope it all works out in the end. You really are winning that scar war. I have come to the realization as I age that function is better than asthetics. If I can live HA free at the price of a couple nasty battle wounds on my head then so be it.
I understand overwhelmed so again good luck and hang in there.

Hi MM3, no surgery scheduled yet, waiting to see NS on th 15th. Yes, I will feel better after surgery, its just another surgery to contend with, but that is the way it goes.

I had my first major surgery when I was 17 so scars don't bother me at all, just overwhelmed by another recovery period I have to go through but it has to be done.

How did the guided imagry go? Did you find it helpful in reducing your anxiety? Peace of mind takes on so many levels of meaning nowadays, but I certainly hope you can find some.

yes the guided imagery is great, its just making it stick after the session, lol.
It did make me realize why I'm so scared to sleep at night/have insomnia since that is when my temp for sepsis went so high and I had that one awful night in the hospital (plus emotons of abuse from my childhood got trigged..even though I thought I had dealt with all of that).
