how long are these tests? does the contrast make you feel funny or anything? thanks!

You may experience a metallic taste, slightly at first, but other than that it shouldn't. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids afterwards to flush your system. Have you had contrast before? It is possible to be allergic, but that is rare.

The tests, if done together, take about an hour total.

ive had the mri before this is just to do it with contrast I guess. I had some contrast for a ct scan that made me feel like I peed myself but you really dont super wierd

I am pretty sure it is the same contrast used for a CT scan that they use for the MRI/MRV/MRA. I usually can feel the contrast when they initially put it in but nothing after that.

The hard part is staying still for an hr while they do the testing...

I had an MRV done, it was one scan (no MRI with it), so it took 10 min. :)
If they do the MRI and MRV together it will be probably 1 hour with the contrast stuff.

I already had the mri they werent able to do it with the contrast because I was poked like 20 times before I went to the mri place, and they couldnt find a place to put the contrast in at. what is the difference btwn a mra/mrv

went well, only lasted 30 minutes wasnt too horrible, just cold in the room today because of the quick weather changes outside. thanks everyone for the help
