I think I was on the same program years ago at my local hospital. Is it called Optifast? If it is, it is a great program, medically safe and it was the healthiest I ever was-so many vitamins and nutrients. After the 1st week I never felt hungry.
I was 24 when I went through the program (37 now) and I lost 92 lbs in 9 months. I kept the weight off (within a 10lb range) until last year when I got an infection that kept me bedridden for a year.
Long story, due to another disease, but as soon as I have some money, I will go through the program again,
It was simple, safe, I loved the group therapy...and it was so effective, I never cheated once-not even on Christmas!
Best of luck...keep us posted!
I wouldn't let any of this stop you from trying the diet. Other people in my class tolerated it just fine, and lost lots of weight. The shakes are actually yummy when you're allowed to add flavor extracts to them. My favorites were plain old almond and rum. Yum!
Good luck!
