Lp on Diamox

Curious if the doctor takes you off the diamox to have another lumbar puncture or do they keep you on diamox and give you a lumbar puncture

I think if they are trying to find out if the diamox is keeping the pressure under control you arent suppose to stop taking it but if ithe lp is to get an accurate diagnosis of IH then yeah you should be off of diamox for a while in advance.

My pressure was high before diamox, normal (19.8) with diamox. I agree, it depends why they are taking the LP whether or not they'll want you off the Diamox.

BTW, on diamox with a pressure of 19.8 a neurologist (not my current one) said I didn't have IH. Whaaaat? Wait to say that until you take another LP where I'm not on diamox! My pressure would probably be right back where it was when I started all this. As we've all discussed before, some neurologists are not the sharpest crayon in the box.
