Eating out: ask the server to hold the salt. No salt! If there is a chef in back it'll still taste great. If there is a cook in back it may not be as great. Hard to tell.
Health food stores have LOTS of lower sodium pre-prepared food, including snacks. Junk food can be found there, and some is relatively low sodium. Usually you can ask the staff for help finding what you need. If you have a Trader Joe's store they have LOTS of low sodium stuff but it's hard to find. The associates there aren't tons of help but it's okay becasue browsing the shelves is fun there.
At home, tons of herbs instead of salt is the answer for me. I love popcorn, home popped, italian herb. Popcorn also comes in those microwave bags low sodium, but not low enough sodium in my opinion.
I like dry roasted, unsalted nuts. I get a big bag of almonds at costco. If I want to get fancy I make a mixture of about 1/4 cup brown sugar (sweet!), 1/4 teaspoon of wasabi powder (hot!), some margarine (it only takes a little), and melt it together. Then boil it for about 2 minutes on the stove. Take it off the stove and toss in nuts to coat them. Put them in a low oven and let them slowly toast for a half hour or so, until they are hard and crunchy. Unscientific recipie, but you get the idea.
Kettle chips has a no salt added flavor. I've only had them twice. They were boring but the second time I sprinkled some herbs in there and it was good.
