I had "sludge" in my gallbladder several years ago, but no gallstones. And that was pre-ptc.

Peppermint and/or dandelion root good for thinning bile, boiled chicken or turkey with rice with lots of garlic pods and fresh lemon juice on top, and some "smoothies" with some fresh vegetables like celery, lettuce and parsley with maybe a little zucchini or yellow squash.

Apparently I have polyps on my gallbladder - not stones, I guess there's a difference? Either way its Extremely painful and I'm unable to eat or drink without adding more pain. Unfortunately, it's still "inconclusive" on the ultrasound and more imaging is needed before they will do anything else...I'm definitely open to anyone's suggestions on how to ease this though - Mary peppermint has definitely been as close to a friend as I have found yet!

Ok, this may be an old wive's tale, so correct me if I am wrong...

My grandmother used to get gallbladder attacks and surgery was always suggested to remove the organ.

She was stubborn and did not want surgery. So, what she would do is drink a glass of Olive Oil (ugh!) and then the bile and stones -according to her- would exit the body painlessly because of the oil.

Dunno, seemed to work for her, all though she had to use her "cure" a few times a year...

I had mine removed before I was diagnosed (approx 4 yrs) Still kind of strange now that I see more people have that and PTC.

I had gallstones and my gallbladder removed before my official diagnosis of IH. I've had headaches & other assorted associated problems since before the gallbladder problem.

My gall bladder was removed about 2 months after diagnosed.. I'd had headaches,tinnitis, etc for years before it got really bad.

yup.... It all hit me around the same time. I had "sludge" and had various digestive issues- I was even the "youngest" person my doctor had ever seen with diverticulitis. Then shortly after the gallbladder surgery (what they don't tell you is that you typically gain 20 lbs) with my new sudden weight gain, I had a weird wiggly black and white line in my left eye, and went to the eye doctor, and she kinda freaked out. She saw the swelling and edema behind my eye and sent me for an MRI.

just curious: did you have to change your sleep position after that surgery and start sleeping on your back?

No... still sleep on my side. But I regret doing it. for the longest time I still had pain like It was there. That was 4 years ago, and I still get them from time to time.
