How have you been? Have you gotten yours?
Good luck! :)
I have the same issue. Here's the deal:
The fluid is being deposited into a new area of your body, where it's never been before. So your body, tries to fight it off. Need to learn how to get used to the fluid being deposited there, learn how to reabsorb it there. Also, the end in your belly is kind of free floating, so until it figures out the best place to rest inside of you, it just floats around, while your body is trying to fight it off.
It is just your body trying to get used to the new device/new fluid where it's never been before.
:D Make sense?
So, yes, it is normal and goes away in a few weeks.
But, another pain, which is in the abdominal area is what the girls are referring to. The new place for the csf to be absorbed, and as they said, can hurt like hell. I ended back in hospital about 2 weeks post op with it.
The only thing I can say to the good , is it does improve, week by week until you don't really notice any more.
You are still so early in the recuperation period. Take it easy girl!
Your body has a lot to get use to so give it and yourself a break! Cath
