You can turn on the popup blocker on your Microsoft Explorer. I assume on other browsers, too. My popups are blocked and I don't have any issues.
At the command bar at the top of MS Explorer, do the following:
1. Click on Tools
2. Click on Internet Options
3. Click on Privacy
4. Check the "Turn on Popup Blocker" box, half way down the menu.
5. Click Apply
6. Click Okay
That should fix it. But, it could make using some sites harder. You may get a message from some sites to "click here" to turn off popup blocker. There's a place that appears under the favorites bar - you click there and it stops the popup blocker. Use the temporary lift and after you leave that particular site popup blocker will be working again.
