So I went to see my Neur Op last week for what I thought was a Pap, and floaters. I was told I don't have any paps to which he questioned if I have IIH??? He did however find a hole in the retina of my right eye and the start of one in my left eye. I just saw the Neuro Op less than 3 months ago and I didn't have any of this. The only thing that has changed is being on Diamox, Lasix, and Amiltryptiline. He told me it was just because I am nearsighted and it can happen to your eyes over time...I'm not really buying that seeing where I'm 32 and as I've said before there were no signs of this 3 months ago. He didn't even bother to look at my med list, but I started doing a little research and found that Lasix can cause this? I'm so frustrated that I'm battling this disease and this man who sees me for 15 minutes with 2 cell phone calls while he is examining me throws out "It's very rare for someone not to have paps and have IIH, but I guess it could happen?" Apparently I'm some sort of medical mystery with a referral to a Retina Specialist now! If this many really doesn't think I have it than by all means tell me what is wrong with me, and why in the past 3 months my body is falling apart?
Since I'm rambling I just wanted to know if anyone else has had any experience with retina tearing or holes, after taking Lasix? Any info would be great.

My paps were gone once I started taking diamox. When I weaned off last year, I had the same pain behind my eye...took more diamox and the pain went away.
If we take away the medication, wouldn't that make the paps come back???
Why is this surprising to doctors?
