methylprednisolone 4mg dospak 21's? My neuro prescribed it to me when i called them about my headaches and let them know that my indomethacine is not helping anymore. Just wondering if anyone has taken this and if it helped anyone.

I have taken this! The first day it helped a little, but after that it didnt do anything- hope it works better for you! :)

Not for IIH. But I get Pneumonia a lot and I take this about 3x a year.
Kinda strange they'd prescribe this.. but it's a cortizone / steorid.. so I guess I can see the logic behind it??

Similar to the "cortizone injections" Im assuming thats where the logic is??

I personally would start to take some other approaches, like trying the injections, or playing with new meds, or upping your doses to try and find relief, rather than introducing oral steroids to get rid of a h/a.
My only objection to this approach is that , this drug is used for a variety of upper respirtory infections, and if you are ever in a postion where you are actually sick and need the med to be treated for an infection they are not as effective b/c you have built up an immunity to them. If it's a one time thing.. that's differnt.

I have been on a medrol pack for both UC and to break a rebound headache cycle. It does work for breaking rebound headaches but it takes a few days and can make you feel really jittery, like you had way too much coffee. It can also make you anxious, so if you feel that it's a normal side effect.

i thought some steroids could cause IIH and starting or stopping them can make IIH worse. I have never heard of them being used for headache.

Do you have a pain management doctor? If no I suggest getting on ASAP. They can do more than just give narcotics, however sometimes narcotics are the only thing that helps!

I dont have a pain managment doc because my headaches have never gotten to extreme but recently they have been worse then ever. I just had an lp like 4 months ago and was grained down to 15....been on 3000mg of diamox since then...havent had my eyes checked but will on aug. 30th just getting very worried since the headaches have gotten this bad so quick. i knw the diamox is doing nothing for me but they seem to think it will. i dont know what to think whit this disorder anymore its driving me nuts. Im having those headaches when you have to keep your head level annd not even look down cause it will hurt like hell. after i wwalk up the stairs my head pounds. i feel like i have a constant rubber band wraped around my head. ugghhh im so tired of it.
