Ugh, so sorry to hear it! As unpleasant as a trip to the ER is, it sounds like a good idea. Maybe they will order an MRI for you? Good luck, keep us posted.

Update - good news is I'm not dead!!! I know that's dramatic and everything, and I apologize - I am Very Frustrated at this point. The short story is I am ok and need to follow up with my doctor. If you are in a hurry or don't want to listen to me whine - stop here.

Long story is - they don't know what is going on. I got to the hospital, rushed through triage and to a room because of symptoms. They did a Bunch of tests, including another ct. Now, the dr just did a ct last week because of the other weirdness and I mentioned this, and on the report it recommends an MRI, but still they did another ct. It came back normal but the lab work was a little wonky (my guess is diamox). Four hours later, the dr comes back and says, everything is normal just follow up with your doctor and what do you want me to do? Seriously??? I looked at him and as nicely as I could I told him I wanted to know what was going on and if not what then why...he didnt have an answer. Ugh!!!!!!! So now I can add this weirdness to my other weirdness I guess...I don't know...but the good news is I am breathing, talking, and typing so I must be ok on some level :-/

I went and looked up the side affects of amitryptilene... maybe you are having a reaction to this and PTC is making it worse and it sounds like the ER doc isn't understanding you at ALL. :(

umm, I would be really concerned that you were having a stroke or TIA. on the left side of your brain, because all these neurological symptoms were on the right side of your body. you are right, you should have had an MRI, as a CT will not see something that is subtle. if you have this and IIH then I am concerned you have some type of hypercoagulation problem which is seen in IIH. I think you need to be worked up for a possible hypercoagulation problem, including antiphospholipid syndrome and Lupus, and you should probably start taking aspirin. the CT ruled out hemorrhage so you should be fine to do this right now since the ER doc is an idiot. if I were you I would call back and ask him right now if he ruled out a stroke with his CT. some of the testing that you need might be messed up by the aspirin but right now you just need to stop hypercoagulating. I don't know how amitriptyline would do this right sided thing to you.

The doctor last night did look at me before releasing me and asked - do you have a history of stroke or tia? I don't - which is good, but the scary part is that he asked...at least in retrospect.

I've already left a message with the neurologist (hopefully that will do something besides just be left to wait until Monday), so now I will sit and wait I guess. I've already got the aspirin by the way so that's taken care of...

Well, here's an update - not sure if its good or bad. Due to not getting ahold of my neuro I set up and saw the trusty family doc... Their advice? Stop the amitryptilene and follow up with the neuro. Meanwhile, I have the fun of being dizzy most of the time and can barely walk...it will get better, somehow, someday.

The numbness and tingling, drooping eyelid can also be migraine symptoms. A neurologist really needs to evaluate you.
