All of us, to one degree or another , experience visuals problems.More so if you have paps, (Papilledema, swelling of the optic discs)

In my experience, when the flashes of light become more frequent, it usually indicates, that my pressure is high, again, and is putting more pressure on the optic nerves.

Do you know if you have paps? When was the last time you had your eyes tested?
This is one reason why we should have regular and often, testing. To keep on top of what is a constantly changing playing field!

But, please dont worry. It is highly unlikely you are losing your eye sight.Just check up time! Cath.

Hi k, yes, time to call the eye dr! I had this and my NO sent me to a retina specialist. It was only a vitreous pulling but I was scolded good for not telling someone as soon as it happened.

Be prepared because they will probably want to see you right away.

Flashes are always increased pressure for me. I just had them this weekend because of sinus congestion mucking things up in my head. I hate the flashes and they are always the big **Attention** lights for me to talk to my doctor. I saw my NO on Tuesday and he said my recent flashes were probably just the congestion, but I should always be sure to find out!
I really don't like the flashes. I hope yours go away soon.

Thanks guys! U all have so much knowledge! I've called and set up an appt for monday! Now I see a lot of u guys see an NO which is a neuro othomologist right? Well I just have a Othomologist.. Is there a difference? Sorry if my questions are eattin u up ;)

My daughter started to see what she describes as fire flies, fireworks. The opthamologist said not to worry. We are not real confident with him. She has her first appt with a NO on Tuesday.

If you have a good knowledgable Opthalmologist and a good Neurologist , you should be just fine . Neuro Ops just have more training in eye diseases and conditions in tandem with Neurological conditions . I have an Opthalmologist and I am perfectly happy with his knowledge .
