I know at least two people with both. I'm wondering myself about a relationship.

Wow... I had primary dysmenorrhea, no diagnosis of endometriosis. But along similar lines am wondering about the Mirena IUD. I got asked by my Insurance Company Rehab case worker to consider removing it to rule out the possibility that it could be the cause.
Could this be possible that my IIH is due to the Mirena even though my IIH symptoms didn't start until 10 months after insertion?

I had a very bad case of endometriosis in 2008, had a complete hysterectomy and now have IIH. Are they related, who knows?

I was diagnosed with endometriosis years ago, but it was not to the point of needing treatment. With an eye on nitric oxide, I wondered about how it might relate to endometriosis. There is a relationship, and women with endometriosis have higher levels of nitric oxide in the peritoneal fluid. Oxidative stress, etc.

I have been suffering from IIH diagnosed in Feb 2016. During the course of the year I had 7 Lumber Punctures to control my pressure. For years I suffered from endometriosis and after four annual surgeries I opted for a subtotal hysterectomy. That easy in 2010. Six years down the line I have worsening periods? I'm also wondering if there could be a correlation. Does anyone have any updated comments or thoughts?

I have endometriosis had two laparoscopies was diagnosed with iii six months after going off if yazmin for endometriosis after being of bps contiously, was on them for years about ten years with a break a period and then without a break. Now 11 years later I went off of depot proverb (was on it for irregular bleeding dye to hormone imbalance) and 19 months later I get a regular cycle and have medically resistant iih. I find that I am more "hormonal" with my iih active and I am more symptomatic when I am more hormonal (ovulation, pms, period). There definitely is a hormonal connection with me and the disease....

I was diagnosed with IIH in July 2016 after 9 months of worsening symptoms. The Diamox is not controlling the fluid and my neurologist has steadily been raising my dose. I had my most current LP in December. Opening pressure was as high as it was without any meds.

I have had endometriosis for 12 years. Three surgeries, the last including a total hysterectomy 4 years ago at age 25. The endo returned 2 years ago. It is worse now, it is cycling. The potential link between endo and IIH led me to talk to my neurologist about testing my spinal fluid for endometrial cells, luckily every thing was clear in December. However, the link between birth control and IIH is still compelling since birth control is the most common medication used to "treat" endo.

If women of childbearing age are most prone to IIH it stands to reason that hormones play a huge role.

Any insights on a connection between endo and IIH would be appreciated. I see my neurologist directly following my first visit to the neuro-ophthalmologist and am thinking a shunt is on the table at this point.

Hey guys there is plenty of research on the causative link between birth control and iih; from the birth control causing hormonal disturbances to increased toxic vitamin-a serum levels. For that reason there have been several class actions lawsuits filed against the makers of some birth control.

I was told by numerous drs that estrogen is the problem for ptc and progestin is safe. I now think otherwise....

Had anyone had an update on the endometriosis correlation with IIH?
Did a hysterectomy help anyone at all?
