Diamox question

Hello,


I was just diagnosed with increased intracranial hypertension this month, but have been having symptoms for a few years now. I was started on diamox yesterday-250 mg twice a day. I was told that since it was a diuretic I understandably so would be peeing quite frequently, but I'm not. I'm drinking plenty of fluids, but I feel like I'm peeing a normal amount. Has anyone else experienced this?

My 11yo daughter has IIH and has been on diamox 1000mg (sequels) since her diagnosis in june 2017. She does not pee a lot either. But, truth be told, the diamox has caused her to have a cognitive delay, rather unable to take care of herself without reminders. I have had her call me from school "not feeling well" and I say drink water, go to the bathroom...
like basic daily care. In other words the short term memory loss/deficit causes her to forget to care for herself eat, drink, potty, etc. When she does go pee it is a rather large quantity. I honestly think because she's young and has amazing bladder strength, she can hold it longer than most adults.

You're taking a rather low dosage. I take 500 twice a day. As long as your pee is normal (doesn't smell is yellow etc) there's no issue. It could just be a common symptom, peeing a lot. I surely do, but I always have, so that's my normal deal.
