CT Head test results

I received a copy of my head CT and it says, "Early, but age appropriate bifrontal atrophy is seen with widening of the interhemispheric fissure".

Does anyone know what this means??

what I don't understand is the way they say "early" and then "age-appropriate". which is it? is it early? or is it normal?
my advice would be to start treating your sleep apnea pronto, before this worsens, and avoid neuro-excitotoxins like glutamate and NutraSweet. and avoid all neurotoxins including pesticides.
I do wonder if this might be an alternative description/manifestation of increased extra-axial fluid, which is likely due to increased pressure in the subarachnoid space.

In layman's terms, it means the front part of your brain has shrunk a little bit. Our brains do lose mass gradually over time, beginning in adulthood, but excessive or premature atrophy can be a sign of a brain related disorder or even corticosteroid use. Which, as sophiasmom points out, makes the distinction between early and age appropriate helpful.
