Is it normal to have back pain with this. I never know if it’s just my back hurting or from this crazy disorderÂ
I had a funny experience once when I had an LP done when I was inpatient and they had a hard time getting the right spot so I was in the uncomfortable LP position for a long while and about 36 hours later I developed horrible pain in my upper back. I was sure I had a back injury from the position they had me in while trying to do the LP the day before. This was on a Friday evening and I had the friend who was with me call the nurse. I told her my back was hurting me, and I want to see the dr maybe I need a ct or mri do see what happened during my lp yesterday. (I had already been in the hospital for a week while they tried to stabilize me..) She says to me, it's your head, I can give you acetometaphine. I was like it's not my head it's my back, I don't need acetometaphine I need a ct or mri, I need a dr. She said the dr was in the ER it's my head and I should the pill. She'll call the dr but that's all she can do. I got so frustrated that no one would listen to me and they were all telling me my back pain was my headache. I knew what was hurting and was definitely my back, not my head! I finally gave up and eventually fell asleep through my worsening pain. I woke up to a horrible back and head pain, every movement hurt. At rounds the next morning the Dr came and reassured me that all of it was a classic Post Spinal/low pressure headache. I got IV caffeine for the next 48 hours and my headache and backache went away!
