Hi everyone. Back at home over a week from my last shunt revision where they found a major leak where my old shunt was. Was in the hospital for 4 days as they did tests to try and see where the leak was. It was hard but I kept praying and meditating. I had a diff. test to look for a leak, first a LP done in intervential radiology where they could look for a leak and then I would get a CT scan. Had to have it done twice since first test didn't show anything. I'm glad my NS didn't give up.
Because I am on immunosuppressents for my kidney transplant I found out that my meds cause delayed wound healing. So when my old shunt was taken out, the shunt part in my spine did not fill in with tissue and that is where the leak was (my NS called it a "geyser"). So 3 surgeries in 1 month, aye caramba. My NS had me lie flat for 2 days after the surgery, he sewed the actual dura in my spine and also did a blood patch.
I'm still fuzzy in the brain at times, at times still get a headache late in the day. But I have to wait a couple of weeks to see if my over shunting has resolved.
I go through all the emotions throughout the day. Gratitude to fear that I will need more surgery.I try to just let me feel what ever it is I am feeling so I can process it and let it go (harder to do than say).

I am so glad that your doing good and the future looks hopeful that you will be great. Your so brave, as so many of you ladies here are. I deal with the pain, and cognitive issues because fear holds me back sometimes, all that I can say is bravo. I am glad they finally found the source of the issue, and God speed on the physical healing, along with the emotional. Take it easy on you, get good rest, so much that you know your ready for the next step.

Its hard to believe that all this could happen.
As you said about your emotions at the moment, being all over the place, no wonder! You have been to hell and back.
Good on you and your NS for being so brave and determined to get to the bottom of it all.
Please God, that's it and you can now rest and heal. No rushing it now, you take all the time and a bit more to, to get on your feet again.

Glad to hear you are home. Try to get as much rest as you can. I am gettign ready for my 3rd shunt surgery in 9 months so I feel your pain. I knwo what you mean about the fear of having more surgery. I am really worried about my procedure on Friday, I have a bad feeling, but I am sure it is just stress.
Hearing that you are starting to do better is a load off of my mind. Keep us updated

Sorry I have not been around much lately to give you support. I surely hope this is the last of your surgeries for a long while.
My last one was over a year ago now and life is still good so just keep the faith that this is it.
